Supporting the evaluation of the EU Directive 91/271/EEC concerning urban waste water treatment

The objective of this evaluative study is to support the Commission in preparing the evaluation of the Directive, which the Commission intends to perform under the framework of Better Regulation and “REFIT’1 (Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme). The evaluation will have to assess the past and current performance of the UWWTD. This evaluative study shall enable the Commission to make an evidence-based judgment on whether the UWWTD is fit for purpose and achieving its objectives.
