The scope of the project is to transfer the scientific knowledge and to develop the technical infrastructure for the protection and management of the aquatic environment under climatically changed conditions. The collaboration is with the Geological Survey Department of Cyprus and the Meteorological Service of Cyprus.

Initially, the pressures on water resources will be estimated due to climate change. In addition, the technical infrastructure will be examined to secure safe estimation and design of the water resources systems in Cyprus.

The transfer of technical knowledge gained in the field of water resource management is important, especially in Mediterranean countries where drought tendencies are a present. Furthermore, the collaboration with the relative water and environmental Services of Cyprus gives additional value to the project.
